Alastair McIntyre has added General View of the Agriculture of the Hebrides by James MacDonald (1818) to the Electric Scotland website at www.electricscotland.com/agriculture/, in a downloadable PDF format.
In his latest newsletter, Alastair also flags up 1884 report of The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Condition of Crofters and Cottars in the Highlands and Islands, available at www.highland-elibrary.com/7.html. The report led to the Crofter's Act some two years later.
An interview with Alastair, explaining what Electric Scotland is and how it came to be, is in this month's Discover my Past Scotland magazine (issue 14). The laetst Electric Scotland newsletter is also available at www.scotchat.org/showthread.php?t=349
