The recent release of Scottish records, notably from Perth and Fife, on Ancestry.co.uk was possible because of the World Archives Project, which is a combination of Ancestry partnering with records repositories to allow them to digitise the collections, and which are then indexed by a volunteer community. Now Ancestry has made a short film showing a bit more about the idea behind the project, and providing a glimpse into the digitisation effort.
Get your popcorn ready folks, here it is: World Archives Project - the Movie!
By the way, Ken, who scanned the records in Perth, was not an American. That was definitely a Fife accent...! :)
