I just received this notice from Ancestry this morning:
ReplyDelete"As a current user of the best-selling family tree software, we want you to be one of the first to know that Ancestry.com will release Family Tree Maker 2010 on August 19, 2009.
We also want you to be one of the first to save 38%. For a limited time*, get Family Tree Maker 2010 for the exclusive low price of $24.95."
I think I'll pass....I'm tired of all the updates. Seems like they nickle and dime you to death.
Ina
You do have to wonder why there is such a need for an annual update, as opposed to a version update (e.g. RootsMagic 4, Family Historian 4 etc)!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ina,
Chris
Altough I have never used Family Tree Maker (having used Family Historian since V2.3) I have to agree that yearly updates can be expensive especially when they are not always compatible with earlier programs.
ReplyDeleteThose programs which offer small changes for free and only charge for major upgrades get my vote.
