WorldVitalRecords free access

WorldVitalRecords is offering free access until tomorrow (Aug 13th) to its entire online collection:

PROVO, UT, August 11, 2009 - WorldVitalRecords.com, an online family history resource, today announced the addition of the largest number of records to be released in a single day since the site launched in 2006. To commemorate this milestone, for the first time WorldVitalRecords is offering free public access to its entire online collection of historical and genealogical records beginning August 11 and continuing through August 13, 2009. The public will have unlimited access to more than one billion records in over 11,000 databases from around the world including newspapers, census, birth, marriage, death, immigration and military records; family trees; stories and publications; and yearbooks.

    Hi Tam,

    Thanks for that. I've just tried the WVR addy and it seems to work fine - I've checked the link in my post also, again it seems fine. It's worth the effort - they have a Scotish burials database and various other materials of interest.

    There is a pop up screen which comes up inviting you to sign up - do you have a pop-up blocker? Possibly it is preventing you from accessing this, and therefore access to the site? I'm not a technical bod, I'm afraid, but you could perhaps try contacting them for advice - see http://corporate.familylink.com/page/contact.html . I have tried again, and am still getting through, so I supect your computer may be preventing you from access for some reason.
