I received a note from Ken Nisbet earlier to say that the Chelsea Pension records on FindmyPast (www.findmypast.co.uk) have been updated to include the years 1873-1882. Ken states that "in many cases the index does not show place of birth and regiments shown, as for example 92 Regiment of Foot, as regimental names did not offically come in to use until Cardwell reforms of 1881".
They're inching ever closer to the point where my lot will start to appear!
