Nine celebrities trace their family trees to reveal the lives of their ancestors and explore major themes in British social history. When Bruce Forsyth receives a letter from America from a woman who claims to be related to Bruce through his great-grandfather, suggesting he was married to two women at the same time, Bruce becomes determined to investigate these claims and discover the truth for himself, a quest which takes him from Bond Street to New York.
