Melrose Poor Law records on CD

Borders FHS has announced details of a series of three CDs concerning poor relief material for Melrose, part of the ongoing transcription project it has been working on with the Hawick Heritage Hub. There are 3 CDs - 1871-74, 1875-83 and 1884-1930, priced at £12 each, £22 for two volumes or £30 for three.

  1. I'm new to using computers for family history.

    My 2 greats granny was brought up in the work house in Galashiels, I think, and her niece and nephew were also poor, and lived in or near Melrose.

    I know nothing about the Poor Law. Will one of these Cds tell me what I need to know, or how to use the records ?
    The Cds don't cost much, but is there a way of finding whether they cover those family members.
