Who Do You Think You Are? Live is once again nearly upon us. It takes place as usual over the last weekend in February, from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th, and at Pharos HQ we are getting ourselves organised. Come and visit us within the Society of Genealogists area on tables 89 and 90.
This year the show features the stories of TV presenter Monty Don on Friday, actor Hugh Quarshie is on stage on Saturday and chef Ainsley Harriott makes an appearance at the show on Sunday. Tony Robinson of Time Team and Ancestry will also be appearing.
Come and Meet Us!
On Friday 25th February, Helen Osborn and Sherry Irvine will be joined by Liz Carter. Liz runs courses on using maps for family history, the new parish register course, and our social history subjects. Tutor, Gill Blanchard will be presenting a talk at the Society of Genealogists Workshops called Your Norfolk Ancestry: An Insiders Guide, at 5.30pm. Tutor Chris Pomery will also be presenting two talks on Surname Studies at 2.30pm and Genetic Genealogy at 4.30pm.
On Saturday 26th February, Helen & Sherry are joined by Guy Grannum in the morning and Hannah Baker in the afternoon. Guy teaches the TNA Catalogue course and the course on Caribbean family history. Hannah teaches a course on getting children involved in family history. Meanwhile, Tutor Simon Fowler presents a talk on Military Records Online at 4pm, and Chris Pomery presents another talk on Genetic Genealogy starting at 2pm.
On Sunday 27th February, Helen & Sherry are joined by Simon Fowler, our military records expert, and there is another chance to see Chris Pomery in action as he again gives his talk on Genetic Genealogy at the Society of Genealogists Workshops at 2pm.
Do remember to drop by and meet Pharos in the Society of Genealogists area of the show at tables 89 and 90.
Tickets for WDYTYA Live are still available, it costs £22 for a day ticket, or you can double up and have two days admission for £27. Children’s tickets are £5.

We still have places left on the Australian Roots and Branches course, but you will need to be very quick because it starts on Monday 7th February. Late arrivals will be accommodated if you email us.

It starts on 22nd February and runs for 4 weeks.
We are selling out of some course places months in advance of their start dates, and are filling up right now on courses running in the spring and summer. Remember, if you want to be sure of a place, you need to pay and enroll in advance, if you leave it to the last minute the course could be full!
People ask how courses can fill up when the courses are online? This is because Pharos online courses are unique in providing so much interaction with your tutor and class. Our feedback tells us that other online courses do not match up! This means we only run courses when our tutors are available. Most tutors also run professional genealogy practices and some are full-time teachers elsewhere, so their time is precious.
