Bumper BBC1 summer for Who Do You Think You Are?

The BBC transmission of the American based 7 part series of Who Do You Think You Are? is planned to follow shortly after the US transmission is finished, and before the summer based transmission of the next UK version of the series (expected around July), which in itself will comprise of ten editions. In other words, it's going to be a bumper session for WDYTYA fans this summer!

The American series will not only be revoiced for the UK transmission with the same narrator who does the British version, it will also be slightly reversioned (so hopefully no big emotional cliffhangers, and no reprises and flash forwards which traditionally accompany US based documentaries at advert breaks). The two series are not at this stage planned to run as one large 17 part series, but will not be separated by too much distance when transmitted.

In the meantime, Heir Hunters has also been recommissioned for a further 25 editions on BBC1 Daytime, for transmission towards the end of the year or in early 2011.

  1. Sounds like we will need to spend our summer at home or make sure there is plenty of room on the video/DVD recorder.
