UK's Ancestors magazine to cease publication

The Ancestors magazine blog has made the following announcement:

The April issue of Ancestors (no 94) will be the last to the published, as at the end of March, as the two partners in the venture The National Archives and Wharncliffe History Magazines (WHM) are going their separate ways.

As we speak I am preparing the very last Internet News column for the magazine, which I have had the great privilege of writing for the last year and a half or so. I'd like to pay tribute to the editor Simon Fowler and all the team for producing a quality publication from the heart of one of Britain's premier archive repositories, and one which I am sure will be sorely missed by its many loyal readers.

As the current title passes into history, my advice now would be to get the back issues you don't have as quickly as possible - I suspect the expertise found within many of its issues will be quoted for many years and decades to come, and that it will soon become one of those titles where you don't know what you've missed until it is gone...!
