Electric Scotland's new discussion forum

Just back from a minor op at hospital, but the news must keep coming! :)

The Electric Scotland website (www.electricscotland.com) has a new discussion forum at its Aois Community page ('aois' is Scottish Gaelic for 'age' or 'antiquity'), located at www.scotchat.org/vbull/. It has several sections, including one for the weekly Electric Scotland newsletter and a general discussion section entitled Thistle & Whistle, a virtual pub where you are invited to step and and pull up a stool (though I haven't seen any drinks on the house yet - God loves a trier!). There is also a section for the Clan Ross Association of Canada, with more clan sites promised in the near future, an area for the Scottish Studies Foundation, and genealogy and general discussion areas.

For those not in the know, Electric Scotland is a massive repository of Scottish related material, including transcriptions of many books of Scottish interest (I transcribed a book called 'One Hundred Years of Guttapercha' for the site a couple of years back, a history of the Glasgow shoe firm R. & J. Dicks, for example). The forum is a long overdue and very natural extension to one of the best Scottish resources online, so it will be interesting to see how this takes off.
