Bit of local news!
Eight heraldic shields, part of a collection of forty created for a jousting competition in 1839 hosted by the Earl of Eglinton in Ayrshire, have been sold for £8000. The shields were found in the attic of Skelmorlie Castle, on the outskirts of Largs, in a recent clearout.
