The Vatican has issued orders to its bishops not to allow the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to microfilm any of the records held by the Roman Catholic church. The LDS church, which is the provider of the www.familysearch.org website, has a tradition of rebaptism of long dead ancestors into their faith, which the Vatican finds unnacceptable.
