I have not seen anything on social media channels about this just yet, but I have just received the following message from Edinburgh City Archives (https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/managing-information/edinburgh-city-archives-1/3), which I was supposed to be visiting next Tuesday:
We’re sorry to inform you that our public searchroom will be closed next week due to the events surrounding the death of Her Majesty the Queen. We have been advised that the City Chambers building is now restricted access until further notice. The Council will be using this building to support partners such as Police Scotland in their ongoing activities.
We have cancelled your booking on Tuesday, and we will be in touch to re-arrange your visit once we have an update on when we can reopen the building to the public.
If anything more formal is announced I will update this post in due course.
Chris
