Have you visited... TalkingScot?

In April my next book, Tracing Your Scottish Family History on the Internet, will be published. To pave the way, every week from now until publication I will flag up a key site that you may not be aware of if you are new to genealogy, or which you may have overlooked if researching for a while, which might just help with your Scottish research!

First up, Talking Scot, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in December 2019:

TalkingScot offers a free to access dedicated Scottish based discussion platform at www.talkingscot.com. The home page of the site is well worth bookmarking, as it offers a range of useful resources, including lists of family history societies active in Scotland, libraries, and a useful section on Scotland's censuses. The main forum itself has four main discussion areas, the key sections being the 'TalkingScot Forum' and 'Scots Abroad'.

Have fun!
