Free Y-DNA testing for men carrying the MacDougall surname

From Aistair MacDonald, one of the administrators on a DNA project which might be of interest to some:

Free Y-DNA testing for any men who carry the MacDougall surname or variant spelling.

The MacDougall DNA Project was started in 2008 and is hosted at Family Tree DNA. The project is endeavouring to recruit test takers to help with the projects aims and objectives.

The project is ofering a free 37 Y-DNA marker test to men who carry the MacDougall surname or variant spelling. The test analyses the male Y-chromosome therefore only men can take the test.

The project aims to strengthen Clan MacDougall bonds and fellowship through the following objectives:

(a) Identify the Y-chromosome signature (the paternal tree) of different MacDougall lineages.

(b) Through (a), help test-takers to establish the likeliest location where their earliest MacDougall ancestors would have lived.

(c) Through (a), help test-takers to establish how they are connected to other test takers and to the Clan as a whole, using both genealogical and DNA evidence.

The MacDougall DNA Research Project is an independent study and is not affiliated with any organization. Please visit our website to learn more and apply for a free test. https://macdougalldna.org/
