Another huge disappointment, but perhaps equally expected, is the cancellation today of Family Tree Live, (www.family-tree.co.uk/family-tree-live/), scheduled to take place in April:
Family Tree Live – Covid-19 cancellation announcement
It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of Family Tree Live.
The show was due to have been held on 17 & 18 April 2020 at Alexandra Palace. Due to the current health implications concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, we have no choice but to put the well being of all concerned first, and cancel our two-day family history show.
We would like to thank sincerely the many people and organisations who have put considerable time and effort into organising the event and apologise for this disappointing but unavoidable news.
Notably we would like to thank our show partner, the Family History Federation, our show sponsors, FamilySearch and FamilyTreeDNA, our one-to-one expert advisors the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives, our lecturers and workshop tutors, our much-appreciated volunteers, our trade exhibitors and our supporting family history societies, and of course those who have bought tickets to attend the show.
We have explored potential dates later this year for a show but none are currently viable in the uncertain climate we are all facing at the moment.
We will be contacting all those mentioned above with further details regarding the cancellation as respects refunds or alternative options.
Family Tree does certainly look forward to organising further family history events in the future and we would be delighted to welcome you to them in healthier times to come. In the meantime, keep safe.
